Arrive in Venice

Make your way through Venice's alluring canals to your accommodation in the heart of Venice. You'll stay at the elegant Casa Nicolò Priuli, a historic noble residence featuring a serene internal courtyard. After settling in, enjoy the surrounding sights before meeting your fellow hikers and local Venetian guide in the hotel lobby for your first briefing and dinner. If you would like to extend your stay you can contact the team for an additional nightly rate.

Venice City Tour, Journey to the Dolomites

Begin the day with an in-depth tour of Venice, exploring iconic landmarks like Palazzo Ducale, Piazza San Marco, and the Bridge of Sighs. Indulge in the city's rich history, Gothic architecture, and artistic marvels. After lunch, transition from the canals to the mountains, traveling by private boat and road to the Dolomites. Arrive in the picturesque village of Alta Badia, where you can rest, reset, and prepare for the hiking adventures ahead.

Hike on the beautiful Pralongiá Plateau

Approximately 4 hours of walking (10km)

In the morning you will transfer to the trail head and begin your hike across the Pralongiá plateau. The walk leads to Rifugio Bioch for lunch, famous for serving the best apple strudel in the area, enjoyed with a spectacular 360-degree mountain panoramas. From the terrace, you can admire the stunning view of the Marmolada Glacier, known as the Queen of the Dolomites. After lunch, a short hike of about one hour follows to the cable car where you’ll enjoy a scenic ride down to meet your transfer back to the hotel.

Hike Santa Croce

Approximately 5 hours walking (11km)

Our hike today is all about the beauty of the alpine meadows. Starting near San Cassian, we’ll begin with a short ascent through forest, before emerging into boulder garden areas and eventually arriving at the renowned La Crusc Church, built in 1511.

After lunch and exploring the church we’ll make our way through glorious alpine meadows, with the sounds cows bells and a landscaped peppered with traditional hay storage huts.

We’ll drive a short distance back to our hotel for a well earned rest and prepared evening meal

Day 5 - Hiking Tours in the Dolomites

Hike Alta Via di Colfosco

Approximately 6 hours walking (8km)

Start the day with a short 15-minute transfer to Colfosco. From here, begin your hike with a step ascent up a wide gravel path toward Rifugio Ütia Forcelles where you can enjoy a refreshing cold elderflower drink overlooking the surrounding valleys. We then continue along a mountain trail under the towering Sass da Ciampac with panoramic views of the Sella group. Today’s lunch is a picnic amongst the wildflowers. After a refreshing break for lunch, we continue to Dantercepies Mountain Lounge where we will take the gondola down to Selva di Val Gardena. After your relaxing gondola ride, we’ll walk the last 20 minutes to arrive at our hotel in Selva.

Hike Seceda

Approximately 3 hours walking (8km)

Following a delicious breakfast, we'll take a private transfer to Santa Cristina and from here you’ll board the Col Raiser cable car to then begin your hike toward the Seceda Summit.

Along the way, we stop for lunch at one of the inviting mountain huts. This area is known for its sweeping alpine meadows and the dramatic jagged peaks of the Odle Group, offering some of the most iconic views in the Dolomites.

Sassolungo & Sassopiato

Approximately 5 hours walking (11.5km)

Get ready for a high-altitude hike featuring sweeping views, vibrant wildflowers, and abundant wildlife. Begin at Passo Sella, following a well-marked trail beneath the towering Sassolungo and Sassopiatto massifs. Stop at Rifugio Sassopiatto for lunch, surrounded by dramatic rocky landscapes, before continuing across gentle, green slopes. This area offers some of the most breathtaking panoramas in the Dolomites, where wide open meadows meet sheer vertical peaks. End the day at your hotel, where you can simply relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Hike Val Duron Balcony

Approximately 6 hours walking (12km)

Embark on a stunning 9.5km hike (approximately 7 hours) through Alpe di Siusi, Europe’s largest alpine pastureland. Traverse the Italian meadows we’ve grown to know and love so well this trip to Rifugio Alpe di Tires for a lunch break before returning via a breathtaking balcony trail overlooking Val Duron, with views of the Catinaccio and Antermoia mountains. Descend back to your lodging in Alpe di Siusi.

Free Day in Alpe di Siusi

Switch off entirely on a day of relaxation or exploration amidst the breath-taking scenery of Alpe di Siusi. Unwind with spa amenities, savour al fresco dining, and indulge in the region's finest wines. For those with itchy feet, guided hikes with stunning views and visits to local rifugios for regional cuisine and coffee are available.

Final day and departure transfer

Today is the last day of your hiking adventure in the Dolomites that we suspect you’ll now have a far deeper adoration of. After breakfast we farewell our hotel and venture through the mountains to Venice in time for departing flights in the afternoon. Please note that flights booked after 2pm are ideal. If you would like to arrange transfers to Bressanone/Brixen or Bolzano station for onward travel, please contact our team for pricing. 

It’s goodbye for now, until we walk again…

Early summer (June) is ideal to visit as the temperatures are comfortable for hiking, and few tourists. Dolomite summers are mild with average monthly maximum temperatures averages of around 20°C in June. June and September are the driest months.

Each trip requires a minimum of 6 guests, six months prior to departure. The maximum group size is 14 guests (plus guides).

Our walks have a minimum age of 16. All walkers under 18 years old must share a room with a parent or guardian. Our walks have no upper age restrictions. Please check the terms and conditions of your travel insurance as they may place age restrictions on your policy
